Nesting box on warm or cool side?

I've tried to search for this answer but have had no luck so far. I was wondering where most of you place your laying boxes. It would seem like condensation would be a problem if you placed it over your uth but with the female spending so much time in it would she be too cold on the cool side? Thanks for everyone's opinion.

I placed my nest box on the cool side and nothing has seemed to go bad, but I could still have been wrong. Maybe it doesn't matter :shrugs:

i have mine on the cool side, this way its warmer ad raises the humidity in it for her
Putting the nest box on the cool side makes it warmer and raises humidity? Are the laws of physics different where you live? If you're going to give advice, make sure you know what you're talking about first.

I've tried mine in both locations, and the females seem to have chosen the cool nest boxes more often than the warm.

So now I just put them on the cooler end (since I don't use UTH's anymore) and no one seems to have any complaints.

it looks like i'm the only one with the nest box on the warm side that's where it was last yr also . i have a lightbulb over the tank for warmth but the actual light doesn't get in her eyes cause i have a white lid on the box with small holes in it. she seems to like it for an hr or so at a time then she goes to her dry hide on the cool end. in nature i'd say they have both conditions outside since they are native to the whole east coast of the united states. i live in fl and we already have hot humid days here just like summer .but i'm sure up the east coast states it's cooler and less humid . gail

I put mine on the warm side also. I also had a heat lamp to keep the upper portion warm and she pretty much lived in it until she laid her eggs. I think she left it twice during the whole process. I kept it pretty damp and added damp moss after she shed. I used bed a beast and sprayed it regularly to keep it moist. Worked really well.

Mine was on the warm side since she did not leave the warm end of her tub from the moment she was gravid!

I've got mine in the middle of the viv and she's in it all the time and huddled on the side closer to the uth.Just waiting on her shed, then it won't be too long before I'll be peeking for some eggs!:crazy02:
