New '05 Emoryi Pair

Roy Munson

New member
Just arrived today from SMR. Set 1 is Leroy, the larger, lighter of the two. He has very few belly checks. Julie is darker with a normal amount of belly checks. I've never seen an emoryi in person, so today was a cool day for me. :)

I can thank mdorfer and blutengel for forcing my hand on this purchase. ;)

Thanks! It's going to be a lean X-mas from my side of things; I've bought too many snake presents for myself. :santa:

They are adorable! My rootbeer looks just like that, but more orangy (well, you saw the pics). The adult emoryi that we have looks like an anery compared to those because he is grey and dark grey, no brown at all. I love those emoryi rats!

Excellent! I know you were worried about their arrival, but Don would never let you down. Leroy the Larger (I love the sound of that) is just incredible. And the expression on Julie's face in the last 2 pics................priceless.
Now, lets see if they get that "golden tone" you're hoping for. And just because I like to "butt in"......... :grin01:

Thanks! I'm pretty sure I'm just going to make more emoryis with them, but I have been tempted by some hybrid thoughts. Rootbeer-bloods, bloodsicles, who knows. ;)

Thanks, Mike; glad you like them. At least one of them better achieve those gold tones on your beautiful emoryi. You're welcome to post pics of that one in any thread I start!

Nice purchase. I love the color of that male and his eyes are just so cool colored! Will be interesting to see what color he matures at.

Good luck with them. :)

Very interesting purchase dean...Should be some fun additions to your growing collection.

Thanks for the great comments, guys. (Hey, you got blood in my butter...)

nice. i didn't know don still bred emoryi. i may have to get in touch with him this spring.

I didn't know at first either. I was looking for a pair, but having no luck. I was pretty sure that Don sold emoryi hybrids, so I decided to contact him. He said he doesn't hatch many normal emoryis, so he doesn't list them. These are a pair that he was holding back for last, in case he didn't sell all his emoryis. But I snagged them from him. I think these two were the last of his '05s. He doesn't have Upper Keys listed either (only Keys Blood), but I have a female on reserve for '06. :)

Thank God they arrived, congrats!

I do think both are more brownish then my darling, I really love the lightest one!

I cannot let Dean get all the attention so here's mine again too, in honor of her helping persuading you!

Thanks. Always happy to see your baby again. :) That's a cool structure you've got for him to climb on. I'm assuming the plants are artificial. Maybe that's not a safe assumption; you ARE in the Netherlands. ;)

You must stop showing pics on new things!!! I have been kind of ignoring the emoryi but I think I like the combo corn/rat look they have. hmmm...

Congrats on some pretty new babies, Dean :)

Hmmmm. I seem to recall someone around here posting pics of some new Cali Kings. Now they're on my mind all the time... ;)

Thanks Traci; glad you like these guys. :)

i'd like to get my grubby little hands on a pair of chocolate emoryi. hell, just a male would be fine.

I'm with you on that. I love the chocolates. Ultimatecorns is sold out of them, but they were listed at $450. Ouch. Still, if I ever see them more reasonably priced, I'd like to pick one up. I'm sure you can find decent pricing on hets too, in season, so I'm just going to keep an eye out.
