I got this little guy yesterday, from Lee himself. He just ate a live fuzzy today, before the photos were taken.

Those are one of my favorites. Cool you could pick him out... and from the Okeetee King himself. That's one gorgeous snake!

Thanks. Here's my female from Lee, for comparison. I'll post a photo from the day I got her (about a year ago) and one I just took today. Her borders aren't quite as thick, especially closer to the tail. She weighs about 280 grams now and has never refused a meal.

And the male

Lee deserves the credit for breeding them. I was hoping to find a male 'as good as' (no worse than) the female, and I was surprised to see the male looks like he'll have even thicker borders and brighter colors. I guess his Okeetees are probably getting better and better each year (those from Lee himself.)

i'm not sure if he has a website, however ben siegel at albinonile.com has a bunch of them directly from lee. i purchased mine from him.......chris

It shouldn't take much longer. I was looking at some old pictures, and my female was pretty orange by late September of last year (only another month.) By November, she had about 80 to 90 percent of her color. I'll be feeding a fuzzy every few days, until I can switch to hoppers, which shouldn't be more than a couple of weeks or so. My female Abbott was an eating machine when young (still is, sort of). I wouldn't be bashful about feeding them, if you want them to grow to their full potential.

Awesome pick-up. Congrats Larry.

Got a question for y'all--
Aren't the best colored adults dark when young???? I have a trio. The male was a light neonate and the two females were dark. As yearlings the females are much more intensely colored. Is this usual?? This inquiring mind wants to know!

Very nice pick up! I saw Lee's table and was able to get a quick look over someone's shoulder. His table was packed with people looking at his snakes so I never did get a good look.

If you mean dark saddles, then yes I would agree darker saddles are more likely to be red instead of orange. If you are talking about the background, you can see how these Abbott babies are already showing some orange. That's what you would look for. A 'dark' background would not be good, however. Black stays black and does not change over time.
