just one more....
So one of my rescue corns passed away today. I did what I could for her and thought she was doing good but she must have had some underlying illness or injury.

Anyway, I went to pick up some frozen mice at the pet store today and couldn't resist this little cutie. She is kind of thin but I think she will be ok.

She is a Columbian Rainbow Boa. I wanted a Red Tail, but I just couldn't resist this little cutie!

does anyone else have pictures of Rainbows that they could share?

Here is my new little girl, no name yet:

PS: Here is a picture of Pigwidgeon who passed away last night....she was a pretty girl!

So sorry to hear about your loss. Pigwidgeon was a pretty girl.

Congrats on your new rainbow, she's beautiful! I'm eager to hear what you decide to name her. Here is a photo of our little BRB.

Hey, I just noticed we are both in MN. What shop did you pick her up at? Our Rainbow was the only one I've seen at the stores around here, in the past few months anyway. Congrats again!

I live on the MN / ND boarder. I picked this snake up in Grand Forks, ND at Stonegate Pet Store. It is the only one I have seen around my area too! Where abouts in MN did you pick yours up at? It is really pretty! I like the Brazilian (what you have) better then the Columbian (what I have) , but I think mine is pretty too! lol!

I decided to name her Lyra. I think it suits her!

I'm in the Twin Cities, and we got Morticia at Leaping Lizards in Burnsville.

I really like the name Lyra, it does suit her! I think all the rainbows are gorgeous. How big is Lyra?

Sorry to hear about your corn, but congrats on the little CRB. They're lovely snakes, I have one myself. As you requested pics, here she is. :)

wow she is really pretty! What do you guys with rainbows do to keep your humidity up? My house and room are kinda dry.

My house is usually relatively humid anyway, so I just have a quick mist in the evening with a spray bottle. It does the trick and Willow always has perfect sheds. :)

In fact, this works for all my humidity animals - I also spray my crestie and my snails. I should think a misting bottle would do the trick, maybe a few times a day? Depends how dry your house is really.

Baby rainbows need higher humidity than the adults, so it should become less of a problem as your rainbow grows. :)

thanks I am happy with her! The pet store where I got her said she hadn't eaten in 3 -4 weeks so I was feeling bad for her thinking she was hungery.

I offered her 3 live fuzzys and she gobbled them up! Thank goodness! I am so happy to see her eating!

Our house is pretty dry too. I would definitely not keep my rainbow in a screen-top cage - some of our other snakes are in those, and I think it would be just too hard to keep the humidity up. Our '07 BRB is in a 20L Visionarium. We cover the top with plexiglass (there are other ventilation holes in the corners of the cage), sometimes with a wet towel under the plexiglass if necessary. (This particular cage has a recessed space on top that the plexiglass we cut fits over, so this works well for us.) She also has a humid hide filled with damp sphagnum moss that she pretty much lives in. With a daily misting, we haven't had any humidity problems using this set-up.

Good luck with Lyra! :)
