New Arrival: 0.1 Matrix-Hypo ('05)

Here's Nova, a snake I picked up in a great transaction with Trevor/doovoo. Her name reflects my hope that her pattern is the result of a new mutant gene yet to be proven. She's 387g, so step one of proving it will come in '08. The ventral shots are crap, but they're sufficient to document this girl's crazy belly pattern. She's a strange and beautiful looking corn all around. :)

She was sold to me in a package deal with a lav-mot. I'll post pics of him soon.

Excellent! Can't wait to see what happens with her now! Her belly looks like she has train tracks.

I was about to ask for pics, but thought maybe it would be early for you to want to show them..
She is very cool!

She is a stunning girl, thats for sure! I wish you the best of luck in proving out the Matrix deal. Keep us updated!

WOW! Nice pick-up Dean. I had a chance at her back in 05 and got to see her as a hatchling but my cash wasn't there and it was a bit pricey for an unproven morph. She has turned into a darn pretty snake and I'm glad someone who will put her to good use got a hold of her. I'll keep my fingers crossed she is....especially if I can wrangle some 'hets' out of ya!

Congrats!:)

I agree that she is an unusual, but beautiful, girl!
Love her belly.

Breeding her should be interesting.:)

You do realize that you have a moral obligation to name the first male to show the morph, "Neo", right?

Dean, Congrats!!!I'm glad you got her! She's a great looking lady! Looks like she has alot of saddles. :shrugs: Hope she puts out some great babies next year!

I'm incredibly jealous, I love her color and pattern (;. I would KILL for a snake like that.

Wow, I remember seeing pics of her floating around a long time ago and I always thought her pattern was so cool! That's cool that you're going to do breeding trials to prove her out. Who do you think you'll pair her up with first? (Yep, I'm curious! lol)

You know Dean, I was just thinking...

Maybe we could take your emoryi wannabe and my thayeri wannabe and make a normal looking cornsnake! :grin01:

Thanks for the comments, folks. :D

I'm not sure who she'll be paired with. She's hypoA, so I might as well keep that in the mix. So I guess I'll be pairing her with a hypo male that isn't even het for any other pattern gene. I don't know if I have that in my collection, but I'll figure something out. :)

Don't you just love the high saddle count of the Emory hybrids?!
What?!! :grin01: I've examined her pretty closely, and she really doesn't have a single attribute that would hint at non-corn ancestry (to me). Her eyes and head shape are as corny as can be. She doesn't really even have a high saddle count-- the saddles are just split. :)

 Hah! Yeah, we could outcross and recover normal patterning! Sounds like a worthwhile project to me. ;)
