New Arrival

working in the Gulag
Well, I posted in the co-habbing thread that I was looking at a Petco snakeling. Needless to say, I am a ~sucker~ so I brought him or her home today. S/he is set up in a plastic tub viv. S/he is very active, exploring the whole viv, doing the climbing baby routine, etc. Oh & I joined the bite club -- this little one has ~attitude~ & hit me in the finger!

I will post pictures of baby & Humphrey when I figure out how to move pictures from my iPhone to here,

Sucker! Just kidding. Even though I keep my collection at one I know what you mean.
I don't know if there's an "i" app or an "i" website for it but I know you can send your pics to Photobucket.com if you get a free account there.

Dear Alan.

I'm only up to 2 snakes, Humphrey the amel & this little one who is, I think, an anery. So it's not too bad (yet) and I only have room for a max of about 2 more vivs so that's where it will have to stop.

Yeah, I keep just one, I've had extras here and there. We like to give our creatures a little extra, my snake's viv is huge.
I know I could fit a lot of snakes in that same space!
I can understand wanting more, I just don't.
What morph is your new one?

Alan,

The little one is, I think, an anery. Right now I'm calling the snakeling Attitude because s/he did the "I'm a baby rattler" routine & struck me!

Good name for now, it might grow out of that. Did you get a tail rattle?
Member Nanci has a beautiful snake that doesn't seem to be growing out of that, look for "Ruby". I hope that's not the case but Ruby is a great snake despite, or because?, of that.

Alan,

Oh yeah! Tail rattling, coiling up with head up, followed by a strike & a bite! Wants me to think s/he is a hatchling crotalid!

'Attitude" just gulped down the 1st pinkie since arrival. Yeah, yeah, I know, 'tude just came home with me today. But s/he was cruising the little viv looking like Humphrey looks when it's feeding day for over an hour, so I thawed out a pinkie. Popped a little Tupperware container into the viv, popped Attitude into the Tupperware & added the pinkie. 'Tude inspected the pinkie for a minute, thought about taking it from the tail end, then came around & took it from the head end properly. So cute! :)

OK, I need some naming help. I am calling the new arrival Attitude for now, as this little snakeling wants me to think it's a rattlesnakeling, but I need some name suggestions for an anery of unknown gender. Anybody?

'Attitude' is really cute. I had him or her out for handling & after initially doing the rattlesnake display s/he didn't try to strike, curled around my fingers very nicely, only made one lunge for freedom & generally seemed much sweeter than when we came home 2 days ago. S/he is very active, cruising around the viv, digging in the substrate, generally doing all sorts of cute-a&^ things. I took some pics with my iPhone, now I have to figure out how to transfer them to my laptop & then here...

Oh, that's good, Nanci. I think I'll go try it out. Oh, no, it's after lights out for snake-ys so I won't wake them up. Maybe in the morning.
