new babies - mishmash bloodred things

Snakes in designer genes
Second clutch of the season hatching for us now - this is one I've been really looking forward to. We'd put our coral snow het bloodred to an unrelated bloodred het ghost male - the aim was to produce some granites, hypo bloods, and hopefully ghost bloodreds with outcrossed parentage.

Click on the photos for bigger versions ...

First noses - looks like hypo/hypo blood, ghost/ghost blood, and normal/bloodred.

And our first surprise of the year! It looks like our "blood het ghost" male is actually a blood het coral snow. Here's a snow or snow blood hatchling.

So - the first hatchling is out of the egg ... and we really couldn't have wished for a better result. Check out the diffusion on this stunning ghost bloodred.

Lots of multi-coloured noses peeking out at us, I will post more pictures as they leave their eggs :)

So fiesty right outta the egg, lol That one looks like a keeper to me, but if not you can send it over here!!

Look what I found when I had another peek in the incubator! Hopefully the rest will all come out this quickly and not keep me waiting too long.

Individual pictures ...

A SECOND ghost bloodred - and dare I say it, even nicer than the first one diffusion wise, even if it does have a more classic head pattern.

Next one is another triple recessive, an avalanche this time.

And finally for now, baby four - yes, a third ghost bloodred. This one is darker in overall colour than the other two (probably a female) - but the side colour/diffusion is even paler overall than the other two. Her lateral colour is actually paler than the avalanche ... definitely a keeper :)

Very nice clutch there Toyah :laugh01:

Is this from the Coral Snow ph Bloodred female from 2006?

If so, good to know that she has proven out as hetero Diffused :spinner:

All the Best. Lex

That's brilliant news.

We always prefer to play the 'caution' game with reference to a poss. het. even although she did show very positive *markers* :crazy02:
