LIKE I SAID SHE GETS HERE TOMORROW SEPT 16. SHES AND EXTREME OKEETEE FOR STRANGE CARGO. BORN ON JULY 15 IM SO EXCITED WHAT DO YOU GUYS AND GIRL THINK OF HER NEW HOME

Wow, nice set up! You might need to add more hides and fake vines though. Your baby might be scared at first, and it would be less stressfull to be able to move along the ground floor of the tank with more coverage.

It's good to see a thick layer of substrate. She can burrow if she wants to. The whole thing looks great, you've included all the right things. You may want to add some stuff as you go on, utilize more of the space, but so far it should be good for her!

What does the rest of the lid look like? Make sure it is very secure, corn snakes are major escape artists!

Congrats on your new snake, can't wait to see some pictures of her! Have fun.

thanks for the imput ya ill be adding more hides and vines in the next week or so just low on funds at the moment but i get paid this week so imm gunna get more

ok so im up at 830 which is unheard of for me waiting for the snake to arrive guaranteed delivery by 1030 am but its still in LA at LAX will it be here on time or not i dont know we shal wait and see the excitment is killing me

You sound like me when I was waiting for my little snow to show up. Then after you get him, you still have to let him settle in before you can play with him. It's killer! Congrats on your upcoming little one, post some pics when he gets there!

i willy most certainly post pictures when she arrives. just checkin the fedex tracking number shes in CITY OF INDUSTRY only 2 citys away from me YAY shes almost here

A couple cheap ideas for hides:
toilet paper rolls partly buried in the substrate
cut up pieces of an egg carton
empty pill bottles
really cheap fabric flowers or leaves from the dollar store
empty cigarette boxes if you smoke or know a hard pack smoker
a tiny flower pot turned on its side or upside down (if the hole is big enough for her, if it isn't, borrow a Dremel tool from someone & enlarge it
I hope these help, they stretch the budget while providing more stuff for your snake to play in!

...and now you need another one as you unexpectedly have two snakes instead of one!

That is a VERY nice set up.

But so we are clear an adult corn snake can and does live very happily in a large shoe box with 1 hide, no vines, and a water bowl. So don't feel pressured to redo this kind of cage for you 2nd one. Maybe just a 10g tank? plenty big for an adult corn.

Hmm. I'd query the "happily" part.

You can raise a calf in a veal crate that it doesn't have room to turn round in. Doesn't mean it's happy about it.

With a pet it's nice to take quality of life into consideration. No need for factory farming conditions when you can afford something that looks nicer for the owner and provides more than just the bare minimum for maintaining viable existence.

excatly i know they can live in a shoe box but how much are they really thriving in a shoe box sure they are catpived breed but so are some tiger they are still wild animals and wild animals dont usualy have walls blicking them in so i think a if you can affored it might as well make it as roomy as possibloe

i did i got her and him this mornig i havent taken pics yet as i forgot to befor ei put them in thier cages but graham from strange cargo sent me a surprise a free GOLD DUST MOTLEY ALONG W MY OKEETEE
