New Corn Owner

Greetings all. I've been lurking around for a while and figured it was about time to introduce myself. I've been keeping reptiles for 26 years now, however somehow managed to never have a Corn until just a week or so ago.

I currently own a baby Cali King Snake, adult male leopard gecko, male crested gecko, female rose hair tarantula, a White's tree frog, 7 small turtles (2 RES, 1 Mississippi map, 1 musk, 1 razorback musk, 1 eastern painted, and 1 snapper), and the strangest cat I've ever seen. Last week, I got my first corn.

However, there's a sad story that goes with him. My brother-in-law's friend works for animal control in a nearby town. He contacted me, asking if I wanted to give a home to a corn snake. He said that a nearby business had called him to pick it up. Apparently what happened was someone drove through their parking lot and while driving, tossed the snake and tank and everything right out the passenger door. I, of course, took in the snake.

It's a beautiful 2 - 2 1/2 foot amelanistic (I believe) snake. He's very friendly, not especially shy, and fortunately suffered no injuries from his incident. He's eating as we speak. He's a great snake, and I cannot fathom why anyone would do something like that to ANY animal.

But, I am giving the guy the love and care he needs.

I'll be sure to post a picture soon. I've just been lazy about taking pictures of my animals as of late. But I promise one soon(ish)

Good on ya bud for taking that lil guy in. I cannot even begin to wonder why anyone would do that to a harmless animal.

Cheers

I can't figure it out either. He/she is a beautiful snake, very friendly, not shy at all. I guess you just can't explain why people do some of the things they do.

Oh my I just don't understand why anyone would do that people are just cruel to animals but I see it has a very happy ending. Hi welcome to the forums this is a great site so come on in and join us. And so happy that he has a good home sounds like he will be okay. :)
