New Corn *

Socrates, I just realized you live in Milwaukee. I sort of grew up in Milwaukee, I graduated from high school there, unfortunatley the school is gone now:awcrap:.
Back on topic I have a new red and blue corn snake, can't wait to see yours.

Just out of curiosity and with no offense meant, are you color blind?

That question answers many of our questions!!!

And unfortunately I am also starting to believe you are crying wolf because before the colors were black and green... What happened to that one? Why switch to red and blue? (I actually prefer the previous combination on a snake)

No, actually it was green and black and then changed to red and brown when the green and black one mysteriously was not for sale. Now it's red and light blue. The red and brown was a good touch. Almost made his posts seem legitimate. I was counting him up as a young newb that wasn't quite sure of what he was seeing . . . now I think I know his true colors:

I'd almost go so far as to bet that we won't see any pictures of any snake that this boy does or doesn't buy. Whatever! :shrugs: It was fun in the beginning . . . I was hoping I was wrong and was going to see a green and black corn!

<_< Wonder if he's gone-gone?
I know that I would be. He's got more moxy than many posters I've seen. I think he's a young teen. How lovely that he was driven away from a place that he came to seek knowledge. Let's all give ourselves a big round of applause.

Maybe he was not looking for knowledge after all... Or maybe now he at least knows that he is color blind! That's knowledge...

The point here is that he changed his story 3 times... People on this website are more then willing to help those in need, but be considered enough not to joke around and make them waste time answering to bogus questions, when they could be answering to a more important one in another thread.

While I agree, I will also disagree . . . he had plenty of opportunities to "get it right" and made the choice not to. There are several kids that are frequent contributors to this site that started out on much rockier footing than this child. They ranted, they raved, they rebelled, but ultimately, they listened and made changes. That's why, at this point, I'm guessing he's a troll. :shrugs:

D80, I have the utmost respect for you, so please believe me when I say that I respectfully disagree. What I've seen from socrates is a youngster filled with enthusiasm at the prospect of owning his first snake. Even at my old age, I can really relate to that. I read a buttload of info before getting my first corn, but textbook knowledge is a far cry from actual experience. When I finally did get my corn, I realized I really didn't know squat. I've seen lots of trolls, but I honestly don't see socrates in that light. Again, I may not know squat here either, but what I do see is a young lad who is like a kid in a candy store. Rather than toss him a fish, how 'bout we teach him to fish?

LBoz, I also started by giving him the benefit of the doubt, until the post where he changes the color of the snake AGAIN, coincidentally after YOU said
Basically, the problem is that there is no such thing as a green corn snake, so we're just messin' with you.

I'm buying a new Corn since the one i wanted was not for sale~! I'm getting a Corn that is

~red
~brownish Like

What Morph is this?!

It's a baby, but pretty long! I will supply pictures when I buy it!!

:crazy01::crazy01::crazy01::crazy01:

No no....look! ^

It was Dark green and black:crying:

That means D80 had already replied to some previous thread...

Then came the story of "no pictures"...

Then
Not rude, just some easy-going goofin' on ya! Basically, the problem is that there is no such thing as a green corn snake, so we're just messin' with you. If someone at that store actually told you that, they're being dishonest with you. It's a hybrid of some type, not a true corn.

When I said
You misunderstood me... I am not doubting you can buy the snake in question. I am doubting that the snake in question is a corn snake...

He replied
oh, The one i'm buying is a red and Light Blue corn

Again, it seems like he is playing around...

I thank you for the respect, I hope I deserve it! :) I've come to enjoy your additions to threads even with your inflated post count . . . ;)

Regardless of what I may type, or how I may have said things in this thread, I do honestly hope that I'm wrong and you're right. You go through enough of these types of situations and sooner or later it's got to happen!! :D

Oh I know! You're mumbling to yourself for me to shut the *bleep* up already, arent you?

Eh, it's probably not this time. I'm just rooting for the underdog. For instance, I'm a Browns fan. ;)

I guess this guy is a troll?

I just wanted to say that, him/her trolling like this, when he or she could really be learning some very useful stuff from you guys, is taking your information and making a joke out of it. I really hope that he/she didn't ruin the privilege for us younger reptile lovers to learn from the adults. That there are really some good younger people into reptiles, that aren't looking to fool around and scam. ( At least I'm Not )
I just hope the more "experienced" people on here, are still willing to give information out to us younger people, and know. We are not going to make a complete joke out of it.

LMAO I mean red and light Brown..error

Okay... Small list of questions for you here;
  1. Are you buying your cornsnake from a local pet store, a breeder or a national petstore chain?
  2. Why won't they sell you the 'green and black' cornsnake?
  3. Is there any particular reason that you know of, that they won't let you in to take pictures? More than one snake per vivarium, perhaps? Mistreated or neglected animals?
  4. Have you seen the snake you'll be getting?
  5. How old are you?

All I can think of for now.

That's probably why I give most a fighting chance until they really show their true colors! I work with teenagers so I understand the enthusiasm and being prone to making mistakes (or even jerking people around) . . . but what I can't tolerate, or condone, is not learning from those mistakes and fixing them.

No harm, no foul! Again, there's some great kids around here whose self introductions to the site were less than complimentary!! They're still here and they are now great contributors . . . the key is they learned! :D

Random, you've got the creme of the crop here. These people bend over backwards (really, I've seen pics!) to help the serious hobbyist. Rest assured that they will continue to go out of their way to pass off their information onto you. Just know that thy're possibly looking out for the animal more than the owner, but really, that's why you're here, right? Don't take this thread to heart. There are amazing people here with a wealth of information to share with you. You'll be just fine.
