New Glass Tank

Hey! I just got my glass tank, a guy did it for me, it only costed me 85 dlls, with lid and everything.... I had a question, my snake is coming to my house this tuesday so.... I have to clean the new tank before? how should I clean it? thx!

You can use a 10% bleach/90%water solution, the rinse many many times until the smell is completely gone, then dry it.

ok, so I do have to clean it, and how do I have to clean the hides? just hot water?

They are new, store-bought hides, right? It wouldn't hurt to clean them in plain hot water.

There will be chemicals on it from manufacture... you should wash it

I like using the natural stuff. I put some vinegar in a spray bottle and some peroxide in another spray bottle, then spray one over the other and cover the tank in the mixture. Let set for at least 10 mintues then rinse with water. Since it's a new tank though, I would also rinse the tank with water first and wipe down the inside of it, then dry it a bit and put this mixture on it.

i use a reptile antibacterial and anti samonella cleaner which costs £2.99. spray wipe and rinse!

I use a reptile safe disinfectant spray, costs about £2.99. Better safe than sorry.
