New Lego Hides

Looks like we're getting our Christmas snake next week so I'm starting to collect all the supplies. (an adult from cornspot)

I made a couple of lego hides. One is about 6in x 6in and the other is about 4in x 6in.

Think they are too big for an adult?

Thanks

Don't think they will be to big at all, it looks to me like you used mega blocks not Leggo. If so your snake may accidentally break it. We have lots of both types of "Leggo/Mega Blocks" and find that the Mega Blocks do not stay together very well.

An adult corn can exert a lot of pressure, when pushing against something to get comfy, or climbing on it. My 3 yr old can, when she chooses to show her strength, cut the circulation off of my adult neck(not a thin weak neck).

Just some thoughts, I do love the idea of Leggo hides though, esp because they can be any size, shape, color or design you choose and they are easily changed when the mood strikes you.

Just checking, cuz we have both that look like those, my teen also thinks they look like Leggo. Love the realistic walls that bobtu used!!

Depending on your snake, they might actually be too small. The nice thing about legos is that you can always rebuild them to size!

They are legos.. and I am a bit worried about the construction of these.. may not be strong enough with those walls. I may have to re think my size and design. I'll wait until the snake arrives and see how it works out.

Thanks all.

I've been tinkering with the idea of building some lego hides for my older corn (He's a few months from being a yearling) But my boyfriend seems to think that the lego's will cut Fluffy?? Are lego's safe to use as a hide?

I have not used them myself but know the several on here have....you could do a search with the word "lego" and you will see threads with others who have used them and then you could PM them and ask if there have ever been any injuries from the hides.

i agree with asbit maybe glue the peaces together so your snake can climb around on it but very creative!:smash:

cole......no offense but I did not suggest gluing the legos together as that totally defeats the purpose of lego hides. I simply was suggesting using one brand over another or one style that is sturdier that the other. The idea of lego hides is the versatility of being able to change the design on a whim and as they grow. You can change the colors with the seasons, holidays etc.:)

Someone mentioned possible injuries with legos, in my experience my corn snake has not ever had a problem with injuries as a result of the legos, so I dont think that will be a problem. I have used legos exclusively, they are the only hide structure that I use up to this point.

If you want to see what my hide looks like, check out my photo album. My snake loves the hide, and stays there a majority of the time

well i was agreeing with you in the fact that it may be to fragile but glueing the pieces together was my own input.though i do like the idea of a season changing hide:rofl:
