Hi there all,
My name is Hoopy and this is my first post although i've been browsing since I bought my first Corn snake in August of 2005.
I looked high and low for a snake and this site has helped me a lot.I come from Scotland and looked all around for my first snake (NOT MANY LOCAL SELLERS!) but I eventually bought one from my local town(which I have found to be the best in the surrounding area!) - I just wanted to see what was the best place to buy and the local seems the best.He gives an invaluable great amount of advice and helps me with any questions I ask and the guy seems a great pro.
I wonder why I was looking anywhere else!
I ended up (after great thought and searching ) bringing home an amazing Anery female we have called Arial.
She is one of the best pets I have ever had , and although the guy I bought her from told me I might get Striked at at first , I say , she has not even looked like striking at all , a very peaceful gal , I must say!
Anyway , I have had her for 5 months now and she is coming on well , although I had a bit of a worry the other day when for the first time after 2 successful sheds (since I have had her), she had started shedding but only on her upper head and back. The Big man had told me to let her run through a damp cloth and all would be well.At my first attempt , nothing happened but after 15 minutes and holding Arial I noticed she just sat her head on my right hand and let me rub her down with the damp cloth , manouvering her body and helping me with the process!!!! IT WAS AMAZING !!!!! The skin just rolled off and she looked very happy and contented and just relieved to get it off!!!
It was great to see and do and all the better when I noticed how well she played along with it!
Anyway , I will try and post a couple of pics for everyone and hopefully keep up to date with everyone.
I do have one question though? Does anyone have any problems with their corn shedding and although this was the first time it had happened to Arial after the first 2 sheds being successful , is there maybe some underlying problem health wise that I should be wary about , although she looks fine and is growing all the time?
Wish all on the Forum the best and a Happy New Year to all and as I've been reading here , once you get one , the bug hits and you want some more......I don't know what my wife would say about that although my wee boy would be delighted!!!!!
Regards
Hoopy
