Good afternoon! I am a new member from the Tulsa, Ok area. My family of wife, daughters (Bailey 2, and Madison 3) and I just bought our first Corn Snake. The girls in our family have severe allergies to cats and dogs. The girls have been wanting a pet for ages besides fish. I have always loved all snakes. While shopping at petsmart the girls spotted this corn and we all loved him/her.
It was a toss up with names Madison's nomination for a name was snakey snake snakes and Bailey's was Kyle. While it was a tough call we stuck with it. Please see attached photo and any help with identification or anything else would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Cute! I have allergies and some of my kids do as well ... we love our reptile pets. :)

I will venture a guess and say it's a hypo.

I am not a breeder or experienced person, though.

Thanks, the allergies work well because im not a huge fan of four leggers anyway. Too many years being chased out of yards as a lawn spray tech back in the day.

We have a dog, which I can't touch ... no fun.

Off topic - my brother spent 4 years in Tulsa at ORU. I visited once, but it was unseasonably cold (December) that year, so it wasn't the warm winter break that I was hoping for.

We're having another pretty cold winter this year. Its pretty cyclical to about every 3 years we get a decent winter. ORU is cool, im very close to the campus.

You know what was cool - the Christmas lights at Rhema. That was probably the highlight.

Your daughter holding the snake reminds me of my daughter when we got our bearded dragon. I think she was 3, and the look of wonder on her face as she was holding such a tiny creature was amazing!

Rhema is huge and they do it every year, still growing! she's our brave one, the other one is just like her momma.

I don't know that I'll be down that way again, but if I was, I'd visit Rhema. My kids loved it, too.

My 3 girls are all more likely to hold a snake than my son, but he will and has his own. He needs to get to know an animal first before holding it.. My (then) 7 year old has had no problem taking an 18 pound boa from a reptile guy and putting it on her shoulders. I just love when the kids get excited about what I get excited about. :)

So many excellent things for your two little ones to learn from your new pet. Looks "hypo", very pretty.

Welcome from another new member! I love the photos - Kyle's great! I'll defer to more senior members on the morph, though. I don't have the nuances all figured out yet.
