Hey Rich, when are we likely to expect some new photos to drool over in the Serpenco photos section? I check it every day in hope :) -no, I have no life!!! :crazy02:

Usually that happens during hatching season when I have the camera sitting at my elbow when I am checking newly hatched clutches. I've been meaning to update the photos on my SerpenCo.com site one of these years......

Actually Fuji has a new version of my camera I have been drooling over, but my old one works just fine and I just can't convince myself to spring for the new one. I'm sure I would be snapping a whole bunch of photos to *test* out the new camera if I do break down and get it.

Maybe if someone would buy up those Lavender Motley and hets I have remaining I would talk myself into doing that.......... :shrugs:

I'm working on my taxes right now and don't know how much I am going to have to fork over to Uncle Sam.

Hi Rich,

I wouldn´t buy the new fuji s3!
read a bit about that camera at dpreview. I didn´t studied the new fuji but what I read about that cam here in german forums is that this one isn´t as good as comparabel canons or nikons. also the price is to high!
if you are still happy with your s1 wait for some new nikons!!!

nice greetings

daniel

Actually, I just read that review on dpreview and didn't get the same impression that did. Actually, it didn't say much at all about the camera except to go into operation details, which were of a preproduction model anyway. Can you send me links of other reviews you have seen? In english, of course. :)

Thanks.

Seems like they are readily available, aren't they? Ebay is just chock full of them. At least two pages worth, but of course many are duplicates from the same places offering them. No decent prices, but they appear to be around. Some of them, however, are from known ripoff dealers in New York, so you have to be on your toes buying from some of those guys. You wind up getting a gray market camera with no warranty and none of the factory provided included items from some of those guys.

Thanks for the links.

hmmm, we here have the same problems ... so i allways pay a bit more and buy from known shops. sometimes you get canon lenses form the US and you get no garantie from canon in europe for US lenses...

here in germany the s3 is available everywhere ...

Thanks. Interesting review. I think "price" is the biggest stumbling block to this camera. In viewing the comparison images provided in the review, it was pretty obvious to me that the S3 has an edge on the others. But it depends on how much having that edge is worth to you, I guess.....
