New Rack From Boaphile

Saffleur

Squamata Serpentes
I was pretty stoked when I ordered this. My original rack works great to a degree and was a DIY. You can find it HERE.

I ened up finishing that rack, it has been treated and sealed with the lowest VSO stain and animal friendly sealant available. The shelved as all wired up with 11" flexwatt for belly heat and each shelf has it's own light switch to turn the heat on and off. It also has a one inch block four inches from the front edge of the shelf to stop the bin from falling out.

The bins are the Sterilite 19608006 41-Quart Underbed Box, White Lid with See-Through Base.

I'll end up selling that because I've just received my first boaphile rack. I picked up the five drawer (sterilite) blanket RhinoRaXX. Took some pics of it and the critters moving in.

great rack dude! which thermostat is that? Looks nice!

The thermostat is an on/off made by Alife. It says NewTek but it's Alife. I purchased it from the bean farm about a year ago and haven't had a problem with it.

It has an safety shut off at 110F or 43C. Temperature range of 60F - 105F. You can plug in up to three heaters. One 4 foot probe and 4 foot cord. Combined wattage of up to 1000 watts. Can be used with a timer for day/night cycle.

So how are you liking? I'm about ready to pull the trigger on one..

I have two RhinoRaxx. I like them quite well, but I had almost given up on receiving them. They took forever to arrive and I could never get a hold of them, so communication was non-existent. I have the ones that have the sterilite bins model number 1755, which you can pick up at Target if you need more for whatever reason. Good luck on whichever way you end up going.

They say on their website they run an a 3-5 week rotation on what styles they are making at any given point in time. So it could take over a month before they even build your rack..

Yes, it does say that, and I was aware of that. I just checked my records and I ordered them on March 4th and got them March 30th. So I guess it was not as long of a wait as it seemed, the frustrating thing I guess was that once I ordered I never heard back, I never did get a confirmation or anything, and when I asked for confirmation my email went unanswered, and I also tried calling a few times and could never get the phone answered. I did get the same ones that are pictured in this thread. I really do like them though. I kinda wish that I'd had gotten the "Sideways" version instead, but they were more expensive, and buying two at that time was a major expense in the first place.

Hi mini4x,

The rack has been wonderful and I do not regret purchasing it one iota. I did drill several small holes along the side of the bins for airflow. The bins can get a bit misty soemtimes if your snake pushes their waterbowl to the back of the bin where the flexwatt is.

I don't know if that would be doable. I am assuming you could but I don't know the degree to which it would look nice or even provide the lighting you want.

I did drill a hole in each level so that I could put thermometers in there to see the temperatur of every shelf. You can do modifications, it is a sturdy unit but care must still be taken.
