New set up

I used aspen bedding because I heard they like to burrow, and I plan on feeding my snake outside of the tank to hopefully keep impaction away. Also, can anyone tell me what size UTH I should use for a 24 x 12 x 12? I found an 11 x 11 UTH at my store that's working great for my leopard gecko habitat, so I just wanted to make sure of the size.

Don't worry I'll be moving the tank away from the window, we just had to put the stand there for a few days to make time to move the guinea pig cage into my sister's room.

Oh, I didn't see the sticky about only corn snake photos... I'm so sorry! Is there a way I can delete the thread or move it?

Well, maybe we just can't see the corn, so it's not technically a violation ;)...You could use a smaller UTH, but that size would work...Remember to use a rheostat/thermostat for the UTH :)

Why would it matter if the tank is by the window? Corns aren't "nocturnal" as far as I know the light doesn't bother them like it does my little leo gecko. the set up looks good. About the plastic containers.. I assume one is a water dish and the other a moist hide? I would choose something a little sturdier for a water dish, I use heavy plastic or ceramic dog/cat water dishes so they don't get knocked over, since wet substrate can start to mold. Just a suggestion.

Looks like you have a nice set up there!
One reason you might want to move it away from the window is to make sure it doesn't over heat, kinda like when your car is hot inside when the sun is bright even though the weather outside is somewhat cool. It probably wouldn't get as hot as inside a car can get, but maybe hotter than your animal friend might like. But, I wouldn't move it into a dark closet though either, it is nice to have some natural light for them, just maybe not quite that intense.

I may be wrong myself but corns do seem to be more active at night or in the dark, not to say keep it in complete darkness but not having natural light all the time doesn't bother them either. Else why would we have stacks and racks for our corns?
But yes I'd keep it out of direct sunlight for fear of overheating the tank and the snake.
