Hi all, I'm Butch from Tampa, Florida, and looking to get in to snakes. I've had just about everything over the years, dogs, cows, pigs, rabbits, and even a gator once, snakes have always intrigued me and I've decided to get either a red rat snake or another native Florida species.

Also any one going to the South West Florida Expo this weekend?

Welcome to another Floridian! There are quite a few of us on here and we get together from time to time at some of the shows and other outings (just this past weekend we went to the Serpentarium in St Cloud).
We usually go to the local shows in Tampa and Orlando. Not sure if anyone here is going to the show you mentioned or not.

Where in the Tampa area are you located?

Hi there and welcome to the forum. I'm sure after you see some pictures here of corns snakes that you will find yourself wanting one :D they are a beautiful docile species. Let us know if you come back from the show with anything.

Well I've been on the forum for a day now, definately think I'll be here for the long haul, lots of great info and even better members. My first snake will either be a standard red rat or a miami phase (if anyone has one for sell cheap please let me know), Thanks for the warm welcome and look forward to meeting a few of y'all
