Newb questions

Well if it feels warm or hot to you it too hot for the snake.
You need to place the probe on thr glass, where you touch, this is where the the uth is right? And regulate the uth with a reostate or thermostate.

Is this directed at me?
If so, i have stated that i am no expert and specifically referred 'AttackTurtle' to Kathy Loves book. Also the ideas i have suggested are merely suggestions, as stated.
I did have the belief that new and old snake owners were welcome to share ideas and suggestions on this forum thus enhancing everyones overall knowledge? Please correct me if i am wrong and i will simply stay out of this.

Heh you silly thing. No it was not directed at you.

Are you saying this to me? just because of my age does not mean i do not know much about keeping corns, she lives in the south, if her A/C goes out and it raises that cage Temp 6 degrees, that will be 91*F. there he no perfect temp, but i have been told by many experienced people that 82 is good. I never said that they should not use a light at all, it is just they dry up humidity fast and normal belly heat is preferred. so what is it i need to do research on again?

Never mentioned a thing about your age.
You say her temps are too high? Mid 80's is perfect, but personally i keep my tanks at 82-84.

Manipulation is quite an art young man

Lenny's right. You'll need to get the temp of the glass down into the 78-84 degree range.

That is a litte much, try cutting it down to every 5 days.

The temps are almost perfect. Not too high.

Lights are fine if used with a dimmer or some other sort of regulation device. UTH's i do prefer but this persons light looks very safe.

If the new person has any more questions, i suggest you research a little before you answer them.

Tula, before you respond to anymore questions, I suggest you practice your reading comprehension.

had a newb question and figured theres probably plenty threads already so why start a new one... i have two corns and they are in seperate glass tanks right next to eachother. it seems fine so far, but i was wondering if seeing eachother right there might cause them to stress out a bit? maybe i should put something between the tanks? neither seems to be showing any signs of stress. one is really calm, and a little shy..the other is crazy and nippy but not too bad..which i just figure is due to it being young. thanks.

I wouldn't think so. Smell seems to be huge for snakes. Do you see them interacting more with their tanks late evening or reacting to the neighbor?

Block their views of each other. this can be stressful for them.

Funny, I had the same question. Our two babies are in vivs next to each other. One is a babykins and the other is a nutter (he springs from his hide to strike at his own shadow!).

Will keep them from each other's sight. Thanks for answering that relevant question.

Carrie
