ok i dont have a corn yet. im just trying to get some gen info. i want one that will stay very small. i like the way they look small. so my question is which ones will stay the smallest.

What do you consider "small?" An adult corn will grow to be about 3-5 feet. No corn (with proper care) will ever stay small like the way it is as a hatchling.

3 foot is fine. ive notice that some morphs get bigger than others, and im just wondering which ones stay the smallest.

and what is a ring neck snake

3 feet would be on the smaller side for an adult corn, i think average would be closer to 4-4.5 ft fully grown. The morph does not determine the size, they all have the potential to get to the same size.

ok, thanks. another thing. what are the numbers for infront of the name. ie. 1.0.0, 0.0.1 and stuff like that.

cool. ok heres a question for someone. the wife is scared of snakes. so i might have to keep it in the garage. if thats the case, it would have a heat pad and probley a heat light to keep the temp up in the winter. do you think that would be ok.

also i was wondering if anyone like to take there corn with them to places, ie, park, petstore, you know out. and if the snake is ok with going places with you.

You have to have a heat pad anyway if your temps are below 82 or so on the warm side. Are you going to be able to keep the garage cool enough in the summer though? It's much easier to warm the viv, than cool it. I occasionally take my corn to the pet store with me, and I try to educate people about them, but I don't usually take them a lot of places. People are scared of snakes so I try not to freak them out too much. A calm snake won't have a problem with it. My amel is great, so is a couple of my Aztecs. I wouldn't take my most nervous one though, it would just stress her out.

thats cool. i also want to know if they pee or poop on you at all. or alot. i was reading that its good to hold the young ones over the cage or a trash can for a few seconds cause they will pee at first, then be ok. what about when they are older, do they still pee when you first pick them up.

Musking verys from snake to snake...some snakes become stressed when they are first getting used to being handled, others could care less. My lil snake was mellow yellow from the start--he gives you the impression that you could get away with swinging him around your head and he wouldn't care lol.

Snakes don't really urinate seperately. The urates are contained in with the poop. They do musk occasionally, but that's something different. That's a defense. You will get pooped on eventually, but you'll soon learn how to tell when yours is ready to go.

MegF. You will get pooped on eventually said:
Yeah, I got to work on that. ha! Ha!

Unless your garage is heated and has air condition, I wouldn't do it.
My wife isn't too keen on the fact that we have one snake. And I"m still here
Good luck to you on that one! :)

My girlfriend was totally affraid of snakes, she used to believe the only good snake is a dead snake. She used to kill them every time she saw em like a spider or something. Now that we have one, she loves it and actually thinks its cute. She is not affraid to handle it. I think anyone can get used to a snake and kill their fear with time.

yeh i agree, i think she could get used to it, even liking it. but she wont even give it a chance. so i dont know

i take my yearling amel to the pet store and to the video store where i work. my co-workers love her and she doesnt seem to mind at all. its a great opportunity to educate people, especially kids. as far as the pooping goes, ive had mine for about 3 months, and she pooped on me just a few days ago. she was crawling around in my hair and when i tried to get her out to put her back in her cage.... ppptttptpttt.... it was so gross! :) it ran down my neck and into
my shirt... i couldnt get into the shower fast enough lol

lol thats just gross. im guessing that i just wont handle it much after it eats untill it poos. so how long after they eat do they usually poo.

Usually 2 to 3 days after eating.....or until you handle it, whichever comes first!
