Newbie to the Corn Snake World

K. Rene

Cozmic Cornz
Hi there,
I just got a pair of Corns for Christmas, one for my self, a female Snow who I named Snowflake. I know original right? And the second is Snowflakes sister, a type A Anery who I gave to my Boyfriend as a surprise, he named her Reimei (Rhy-my). He was wanting to get Ferrets but they are a little more maintenance then we can handle right now. So I got us baby corns, which we love. Can't seem to understand why so many people don't like snakes, and would never want one as a pet. So I am researching the history of Corns and snakes as pets, and I plan on writing a short essay, defending my slithering critters, so I can give to people like my Grandma who won't come anywhere near my snake. If anyone knows a good site or book where I could find info please let me know. I have Bill and Kathy Love's "Comprehensive Owners Guide" which is awesome, I highly recommend it to anyone else new to the corn world. I am proud to own corns and I won't be surprised if in the future my collection grows :D

Hello & welcome! You came to the right place to learn more about corns & find people willing to talk all day about them! Have fun!

Haha no, I had to keep them hidden, and away form the 4 cats lol I almost blew the surprise twice cause I was so excited. But my boyfriends face was priceless when I put his baby snake into his hands.

Good to see you're in my neck of the woods, so to speak. In Feb there's a reptile show in Hillsboro, and again in August (I think). That's a great place to meet local people and maybe get another snake or three....

epa650 if you go to my public profile there is a photo album with pics of my girls :D

Dionythicus, I am going to the show in Willsonville not this Saturday but next. Will you be going to that one? Or just the one in Hillsborow? Is there a site with info for that one? I am afraid to go to the show cause I might find something I love and won't be able to walk away.

Welcome! I just adore snows too. I know Jen (Ghosthousecorns) lives in Oregon. You should check out her stock too. Stunning animals!

Hi and welcome! You will find everyone here to be great. Tons of answers and great help. Congrats on your new additions

Yay, two more people close to me, how nice. :D There's actually an expo in a couple of weeks (Jan 23rd) in Wilsonville. I'm planning on going to it as well as the one in Hillsboro in February. http://www.pdxreptileexpo.com
