Hi my name is Stephie and I just got my first Corn Snake on thursday. I was told her color is called creamcicle. When I say her i really mean i have no idea. I am an college student working on a double associate degrees. One is in Animal Science and the other is Science (hope to BA in Zology :~) I have been learning so much from this site it is amazing. I do still have a few noob questions.

HissyFitz was fed on tuesday before I got her. I have not seen any poops in her tank. Is it possible she pooped before I bought her on thursday afternoon? or could it just be small and I really dont know what Im looking for?

Petstore bought her at the Herp show in SC last weekend. I dont know exactly how old she is. If i measure her can I get a rough estamite? They said she didnt need to eat till tuesday and she gets one pinky (small one). Is this accurate? I know some times ppl dont know what they are talking about. I do know they specialize in fish and recently moving in to the herp world. So I am afraid they are just learning too.

Went today and got an UTH heater and the dimmer from Lowes (ty whoever suggested it). Her cool side is 72.4 atm and her hot is 82.6? Is that good?

And last hope do I post a pic in the thread for you guys to see her she is so beautiful!:dunce:

Very cute! And a nice set-up. She may have pooped already. It won't hurt to give her a few more days to settle in before feeding her. She's had a very stressful life with lots of moving around up till now.
 
We put HissyFitz on the scale today her weight is a whole 8.25 grams. I didnt want to stress her so Ill try to get a length on her monday or so.
 
Going to buy some pinkies tomorrow. Before I buy to many can anyone give me a rough estimate how long she will be eating pinkies. I only have one snake and the people I know have balls and redtails which would just laugh at the pinkies.

OMG never thought of candling. I have done it before when I had cockateils and Conures. Sounds way better then popping since I never done that before!!

I tried the candling this morning around 7 am (keep her from to much stress before dinner time) Her vent and tail area was the same light pink area throughout so a girl!!

Hissy ate her first pinkie today (first for me anyway)!!! I thawed it in warm water and I was afraid it wasnt warm enough but apparently Hissy is a piggy. When she took the pinkie 3/4 of it was in her mouth and down the hatch in less then 30 second. I fed her at like 6 pm about an hour before lights out for her. Is that a good time since Corns are crepuscular? or should I feed her in the morning? and 2 full days before handling to aviod regurge right?

2 full days with no handling is right. Most corns will eat at any time of day but some do show preferences for certain times of day. I think most people do try to feed them at dusk, but if you can't, like I said, it's not usually a problem.
 
OMG I went to the pet store to see about getting Hissy a new fake plant for here Viv. I think I have the Cron Snake disease!!!!:rofl:
Instead of buying a plant I got another Viv and a beautiful Snow!! I will post pics as soon as I can. This lil one is so active its hard to let it sit the 2 days plus feeding on Sunday and 2 more days sigh!:eek:
 
I think maybe you should go to the craft store for your plants from now on! LOL! (or maybe not, ;~)
 
yeah i had to promise to avoid the store over the weekend lol thinking about getting some florals from walmart cause they are cheaper but heres a picture of Lightning
