Newest little rescue!

Wyldrose

Addicted to corns!
I guess being the crazy snake lady has made it's way around town! Last week I was contacted to pick up a snake that was left behind when a tenent was evicted. I had no clue at all what I was going to get, I was told a 4-5 inch python. BP's are not that small, so I was expecting a garder or a baby king.
When I got there I found this cute little female ball python, she is tiny 108 grams

I put her in a bin with damp paper towels and she managed to work the stuck shed off herself. I didn't want to mess with her. I picked her up on a monday and not knowing when she ate last I thawed her a rat fuzzy on friday. She took it right away :)

Her tank was full of pieces of shed, I found the head piece and it had 2 layers of skin. So she's had atleast 2 bad sheds.
For a rescue she looks pretty good. Since I had not idea what I was picking up I named her "Mystery".
She makes it #3 for ball pythons for me and the best eater out of them all! lol!

Lucky the snake found you! And I know what you mean by your own mini zoo. We have anywhere from 100-130 chickens at any one time, peacocks, turkeys, mice, etc., etc. etc.... needless to say, the kids love this. I'm really trying to focus on getting some more nice snakes and bearded dragons next, but you know how it is when you have a family you have to get some pets for everyone.

Oh man! How lucky!! For both the snake and you! Lucky for the snake that she going to be well cared for, lucky for you that a ball python found abandoned took frozen thawed food!

Thanks :) I was shocked she took f/t right away! It took a good 6 months to get my male on f/t and my other female is taking p/k now so after a few more p/k she's going to f/t.

There is just something about owning animals that destresses and relaxes me so I can relate to you and your zoo. My wife is actually going to pick up 4 baby sun conures on Friday, so our zoo is growing as well, but it is definitely going slower than I would like. I love the sun conures as they are very intelligent and love attention to the point that if they don't get enough they can get out of hand from what I've heard. They even sell shower rods for conures so they can take a shower with you.
