nighttime temps

What are the appropiate temps during the night? Is there supposed to be a hot and a cool side during the night as well?

What is the proper temp for the daytime? And if it's not too hot, how would I keep the proper tank temp since I live in the valley and during the summer, the house room temp is around 85, but during the night the temps drop around 20 degrees.

Sorry for the long post.
 
*Personally* I let the temp at night drop too room temp. My house doesn't usually go below 70, and the snake room hardly hits 74-76 so its warm. They have all done fine. Even as hatchlings. But I can't say everyones would be fine because overnight home temps vary.

I use controlled heat tape on everything. The only drop is on the cool side as the room temp drops at night.
 
but should there be a temperature gradient during the night time???like should u leave ur heat pad on during the night creating a warm and cool side??? if so, what would be the apropriate temps for both sides during the night???

In my answer I said no, I do not leave heat sources on at night. If your house goes below 75 every single night all night then yes you'll need to leave it on. If not, then the snake should be fine without it.
