Hello,

Fed the little 19 grams bugger a good sized 4 grams peach fuzzy 48 hours ago. All this time she spent the time at the top of her tree branch, where the temperature is about 72 F. Right below her is her warm side hide, about 84 F at the glass floor under the substrate (I use UTH). I just checked on her and saw that she still has a bulge in her belly... I took her and pointed her towards the hide, where she safely "escaped" from my hands in there.

I'm worried about her digestion...why wouldn't she try to find a warmer place on her own....beats me..
 
Mine can stay on the cool side to digest - it's not a problem. As long as the warm side floor is at the correct temp with some hides or ground cover, then they'll use it when/if they need to. No point trying to make them move to where they don't want to be, especially when you risk a regurge after feeding.

It's OK to trust them to use the facilities as they need to. Snakes have been thermoregulating for way longer than humans have been around!
 
What makese sense to me doesn't make sense the to them. Like crapping in a water dish or laying outside the hide instead of inside of it.

They have minds of their own...otherwise they would be robots.

No need for concern! My snake always digests in either his cool hide, or sometimes in his humid hut! He moves to the hot side when he needs to. :)
