Crazy Corns
My bloodred pair doesn't mate. When i put them together, the male is 'shivering' but they don't put the end of there tales together. Its like they dont know what to do? :awcrap:

How long will it take for them to mate? or should i leave them for more than an hour? :awcrap:

Our pair is now together since the end of january,...they won't mate too but i think there are no spring feeling yet,...:)

Also a female that was in hybernation doen't get lucky..
Wel.. time will tell hihi

Is it better to keep them together? there seperated a few months back, before that they always where together. But how will i then know when mating happened?

I haven't tried breeding yet, but I've seen it said many times on this forum that if they don't mate within the first little while (10 minutes - 30 minutes is the general range of what I've seen), they aren't going to. At least not that day. So separate them and try again in a few days. I am under the impression that making corns by leaving them together for extended periods is not how it is usually done.

Nanci has a thread down in her forum about breeding schedules for corn snakes. And I would not leave them together for more than an hour at a time.

I usually pair mine once a week and keep them together for 30 minutes or until a lock ends, then separate. None of mine have been interested yet, so it's not just you.

The snakes will not "lock-up" until the females is absolutely ready to do so. As of right now I have tried to pair up some snakes even after the females' post-hibernation shed has happened and still no lock ups yet.

I have the opposite problem. All the girls are twitchy, none of the boys! Except for one..

I'm having my second attempt with a pair that the male originally ran and hid from the girl. Thinking I'll leave them overnight this time and separate in the morning. She's twitchy, so much so that she started twitching when I picked her up!, but he seems a bit scared about it all, lol.

I don't know If it helped but yesterday thy locked and I had put them together in the late evening, turned all the lights off and left them after watching shy boy avoid her for 10min. I wrote the above post went back to check and they were locked. Seems he didn't want to be seen, he's that shy lol
