hi guys i have a quick question about one of my corns i have had her about two months and would estimate she is about 4 months old but in the two months i have had her she has not shed, im not overly worried but my other corn who is 9 months old used to shed like every 3 weeks when he was her age he has slowed down as he got bigger.
also i am always checking her eyes to see if she is blue but it is hard to tell with her as she is a ghost stripe my older one is a norm and u can spot a mile off when he is getting ready to shed, any advice would be appreciated.

thanks guys

Four Months? She should be shedding every month or so. This can be normal, but? Is she eating OK? Is her humidity OK? Could there be any possibility, that she has an internal parasite that may be inhibiting her growth a little?

A healthy baby snake will eat, poop, scent the air and shed. Shedding cycles do change but you may want to keep an eye on her.

Good Luck,

Wayne

Not having shed in 2 months, while unusual, is not an indication that something is wrong. I've had hatchlings go 8-9 weeks between sheds, but it's always a one-time occurrence per hatchling. More than likely, your snake shed just prior to you getting it and will be getting ready to shed soon. You may not notice it in blue because of it's morph. As long as your hatchling is eating well, active, and the temps and humidity are normal, I wouldn't worry yet. Besides, sometimes, the shed from a small hatchling can be rolled up into such a small ball that you may not have noticed it in the substrate.

ok thanks for the advice her temps are good i think about 85 on the warm side and 70- 75 on the cool side, she eats without any problems and is very active especially when being handled i will have a really good look in her viv and see if i can find a shed if not i will wait a couple more weeks and hope for the best
