20 Long yes...(If they were hatchlings)but If I were you I would read up on cannabalism in cornsnakes. When they get older, they would need a much bigger enclosure...

have you got the site :shrugs:

Just type in cannabalism in the search feature at the top of the page. There are a ton of different opinions. You need to decide for yourself. :)

if you decide to go against better judgement...2 adult cornsnakes would not be able to live together in a 20 gallon long...it's too small of a space...

Thanks...I forgot to point that out that he could house them in that size tank when they are hatchlings...not adults.

you can for hatchlings...but adults can get up to 4 to 5 foot long. with 2 snakes this long a 20 gallon won't be long enough, not will it have enough floor space.

You're not being clear. For an adult corn, a single adult corn, a 20 gallon long is indeed long enough, without question.

For two, it's not.

I thought that 20 gallon is too small for even one adult - or is this one of those "opinion" things where some say 20 is okay, some say 30, some say etc. etc.?

While it might be an opinion thing, I'd say the vast opinion is that a 20long is big enough for an adult corn. I think the rule of thumb is the cage should be at least half the length of the snake. A 20long is 30 inches long, so a 5 foot snake would be okay.

Yea, I guess I forgot to specify that I was saying a 20 long was too small for two...but that is what the origional question was asking, so I figured that it would just be infered that was what I was talking about.

why cant i uese a 20 gallon

TOO SMALL

I would say a 40 gallon breeder or a 55 gallon long would be sufficient for a pair of adult cornsnakes if you would like to risk the problems that can go along with it.

I've seen many peoplle with them in 20's. I'd go with 30, but, if you are strapped for cash get the 20, then get the 30 or whatever later. No tanks are wasted, if you keep getting more snakes eventually, cause you will prolly want a 20 gallon for something anywya.

I have my two adults in a 4footx1.5x1.5foot viv with an extra 'shelf' inside if this is any help. I have a picture on my site (address at bottom of post).
