Not happy with the latest Repticon

I hadn't seen this before. (I can't accurately remember the dealer, they had no signs up) but in the display bins for a corn snake seller, one was full of pipping eggs! And in another bin, one of the hatchling corn snakes was belly up and dead.

I wish I'd gotten pictures, but it was fairly upsetting. I can't believe someone would sell pippies for full price. And I certainly wouldn't trust anything at their booth to be healthy and eating.

That's awful. I wonder who it was. I _do_ think it's exciting to see pipping eggs, if you can move them safely. IF.

I could see having a display of pippies to show off if it could be done safely. I've seen bird breeders bring barely out of egg birds so they can be shown off and cared for at the show. But these were just in a sale bin and fairly dirty with the sawdust stuff on the bottom.

I was not at Repticon, but I was at a local show a couple of weeks ago and I saw some severely emaciated sub-adult corns in display cases. One of them even had a shed skin in there, which made me think that it maybe lived in there full time. I ended up contacting the person in charge of the show. He seemed very concerned and was going to look into it. I can't believe anyone would think that it's ok to keep an animal in that condition, let alone sell it. Just another reason to check the BOI before dealing with a breeder/vendor.

Wow I to would be very interested in finding out who the vender is. Those poor babies and those poor people buying out of egg babies not even sure if they are going to eat for them.
