Nothin' but a bunch of enablers

I think that corns are no longer classified as rat snakes. Rat snakes are in the genius Elaphe, while corns are in the genius Pantherophis. They all used to be in Elaphe, but there are profound differences between the two and they finally were reclassified- quite a few years ago! It hasn't caught on yet though!

All North American rats including corns are Pantherophis. Elaphe is used for the other rat snakes other than in North America. The crazy russians keep changing the taxonomy.
