I looking for something to take good pic's for my for sale adds and need to get close ups. I dont know anything about camera's, so please be easy on me. I need to know make and modle and if you know about how much it will cost me all said and done. Thank's vinny

Depends on what you want, Vin.

You can go get a cheap point and shoot, and if you're going to do that I'd suggest going name brand. Or, you can go expensive and get yourself a Digital SLR (which is what I have and used to take those pics at White Plains).

Either way....

Of course, I'm biased but I'd suggest a Nikon...

Ok I dont think I can afford a SLR right now . what is a cheap SLR go for. and what does a real good point and shoot go for about . any model

You should be able to pick up a Nikon D40 (DSLR) for $500 or so.

A high end point and shoot will set you back $300-400.

Vin, I'm using a Kodak 7.1 megapixel and getting fairly decent shots.
Cost was $150. I'd have better if I could afford it

My Casio Exilim 10mp point and shoot, that I love, was $400 MSRP, but can easily be found for $300 or so.

ok I have about 200 and was thinking of going to best buy . What do you think or is the web better

You'll get a much better deal online, unless you can find something on Best Buy's weekly circular.

ok off to best buy tomarrow coppied the model may be loads of pic's from my collection in the next few days

Here is a good site for digital camera use:

What camera did you end up getting? I cant wait to see pics! You have a really great collection and I was lucky enough to see all the beautiful snakes in person. :dancer:  Take care and talk soon, Lindsay

I have a Canon S2 IS, it's 5 mp; but has quite a bit of zoom I think up to 400mm; it's a point an shoot, but has some of the same features as the Digital SLRs

I bought it almost 2 yrs ago and spent about $500 total for camera & bag & memory cards
