Ok to feed after shed

SWINGRRRR

I need/want a 'Cane
Today is Jor-Els normal feeding day, but I came home to discover he has shed. I didn't even know he was ready to. Should I keep him on schedule, or give him a day or so?

Feed him today- he should be super hungry! Also, he could leave you a huge poo in his feeding bin, if he hasn't already gone in his viv.

I always feed my snakes the day they shed. Like Nanci said, they are super hungry. I never have the luck of them pooping in the easily cleaned feeding container.. mine always go in their water bowl or inside the shed... YUCK.

He did poop. But it didnt seem any bigger than normal. I made it to the pet store 15 minutes after they closed. Ill have to get up early and make a run.

He'll survive not being fed on the exact day, trust me. In the wild he might go weeks without finding something. It's better to go longer than too often.

Invest in a large box of frozen mice! :grin01:
I wish I could, but I live with my brother. Even though his wife and he have several snakes, they are not into the frozen mice in the freezer thing with the people food.

my snake will still eat when he is virtually blind from being in blue, so feeding after a shed is otay :D

My wife said that at first too. But when I explained that I would save several hundred dollars over the course of a year... she got over it.

Now it's just visiting friends that get grossed out. :grin01:
