I left my ex!:dancer: :dancer: I'm sure at least some of you can relate. One year later and I've got 3 more corns, a huge breeding colony of rodents, and a heck of a lot more freedom. Plus I now have my own income, and don't have to ASK for money. Just wanted to share....:D

Thanks for all the well wishes guys! It really is a milestone in my life. One of those ones that makes you look back and think, "where would I be now if I hadn't left then?" I don't really know the answer, I just know that I would be miserable, and I WOULDN"T have a corn hanging out with me right now. To all of those who have left: :cheers: , and to all of those who haven't left yet, but are thinking about it... :duck: hang in there!
 
Congrats sister... I am glad you took that step. I know it is hard to do, but for anybody stuck in a bad situation and wanting to get out, it can be done.
I once had a bad abusive relationship that was really hard to extricate myself from. The guy was threatening suicide if I left. Finally one morning after having a long chat with a helpful person on the suicide hotline the night before, I realized you can't be responsible for anybody except yourself. I packed my bags, and said 'If you are going to do it, DO IT!' and left. Of course he didn't, it was all a bunch of emotional blackmail BS. I lost a lot of my material possesions that I didn't want to go back for and the guy ruined my credit to boot because he had used my name to get a cell phone (back in the day when they were still big clunkers) and never paid the bill. It took me years to be able to resolve my credit problems he caused.
I have treasured my freedom ever since.
