I think what we need to know is where the oranges used in these two test breedings come from. If buf is a dominant gene and orange is an amelbuf then butter het motley x orange could result in all oranges if the orange used here carries two copies of the buf gene meaning all the resulting offspring from this animal carry one copy of the gene and look the same.
If you could state the parentage of the two oranges used here then that would help greatly.
