Partial Shed?

ArpeggioAngel

Around Here Somewhere....
I have had Clementine, my miami phase 06 cornsnake, for about a month now. About two weeks ago when I went to take her out to feed her I noticed a partial shed in the tank. It was only the front half of her body. I checked the entire tank - under the hide and water dish, ran my fingers through all of the substrate, etc...but couldn't find the other half. I checked her out thoroughly - Joe (CaptBogart) even wet her down and ran her through a towel to try to pull off any remaining shed - but there wasn't any. Is this normal? Should I be worried?
I was waiting to see if maybe she would shed again soon after that episode, maybe just the back half - but nothing. So thought I would post to get some expert opinions on the subject.

Thanks!!

I've never heard of this happening before.
Are you sure the shed wasn't all there, but the back half was folded in half the front half?
The rest of the shed couldn't be hidden under any branches, rocks etc?
I don't know what else to suggest really.

It really is just half a shed...just the front half of her body. It isn't folded in half or anything. I scoured the entire viv looking for the rest and had Joe check it too just in case I missed something.
She looks and acts fine. Color doesn't appear darker on one half than the other, no dried shed sticking to her anywhere. She wasn't real happy about being wet down and run through a towel a few times to see if we could "peel" any stuck shed off of her...there wasn't any....but figured we had to try in case we couldn't see it for some reason.

Okay, I ran a quick Google search for you and came up with this.

This information comes from http://www.moreptiles.com/ :

"Sometimes only part of the skin comes off. In this instance, a damp hide should be provided for the snake to moisten the skin and shed completely. The shed must be complete with 5 days from the initial partial shed. Bad shedding is also a symptom of some bacterial or parasitical infections."

When my snow had a partial shed, I wet the towel and had her move through that. The shed actually came off in 4 more pieces (the tail was the hardest part). I would suggest a humid hide in the viv to encourage good sheds from now on.

I live in Florida so humidity is not a problem. I have a hard time trying to keep it down most of the time. We tried having her move through a damp towel and that didn't produce any additional shed either.
