Peninsula Ribbon Snake Hatchling

Nanci

Alien Lover
Minutes after finding the Southern Black Racer, I found this little guy. Also on the pavement. He would open his mouth, but didn't bite. Very hard to ID- the Florida snake key didn't help. I didn't have my photos to post until today- just a drawing of him. Doing some surfing I found a head shot on a guy's site that was my snake exactly. This baby was also released after photos. (They don't stick around long enough to even get the camera out if not caught!) I'd never seen this species before.
