Pic request.... Hypo Opals

Josua

Colubrids rule
Has anyone already bred hypo opals? (and are they called hypopals then? :grin01: )

Coral snows are much different than 'normal' snows.
So I wonder if how a hypo opal looks like. If they are very nice, I might have to breed some nice hypo's this year :)

Joe Pierce has posted some in his personal section - just scroll down and try the search function - it's somewhere in the 200 posts threads. :)

I was scrounging around in my pics thinking I had what I 'believe' to be hypo Opals but couldn't find any. Carol has one that I believe to be hypo Opal just because it looked different from the other Opals in that clutch. Opals vary soooo much that that is not a good way to determine true genetics.

I think we have a pair of hypo Lavs, male het amel (proven) and female possible het (unproven) at The Lazy Slither Ranch. Producing amels from homozygous hypos is the only way I know to be absolutly sure they are amel and hypo.

Another tough one is Snopals! The Opals vary enough that it is hard to see the subtle differences between the two. :crazy02:
