Picked up some new decor today.

Well as some of you know Chompy had mites a few weeks back so he was taken out of his main tank and put in his little one, and anything i couldnt clean to my satisifaction got binned. As a result his tank has been looking rather bare for the last week or so and he's not been coming out at all. So today me and the girlfriend went decor shopping for him.

I think we did quite well, the girlfriend spent the grand sum of £30 ($60ish?) on the snake she first called 'Demon snake' and didnt like - Now she loves him!. Came home with:

1x Exo-terra medium vine
1x fake plastic plant and rock combo (Designed for an aquarium really but i think its green and white colouring looks nice in the tank.)
1x piece of decor wood for him to hide under/climb up
1x Bonsai Tree
1x Young ivy plant

I think the overall effect is pretty good, he's got plenty of ground cover now and lots of things to climb on. I think it looks quite nice too, better than how it was before (He's still got his beloved cork bark in there too! There'd be nuclear fallout if we took that away from him :flames:)

Heres a few quick photos, excuse the rubbishness of them - My camera lens is very mucky.

Thanks! :)

Yeah hes a very shy snake so we wanted to try and maximise the ground coverage for him to feel covered, but without taking ground space away from him... and without making it so it was impossible to see him in the tank!.

Getting some fake silk leaves tomorrow morning from my parents (my mum has 1000's of them left over from when she was a florist) same stuff i made his old vine out of and we'll chop and smooth the wire off and use them to give him a bit of coverage around the base on the bonsai tree :)

Nice,
But £30 is hard to keep when your a money hungry teenager :bird:.
I shall have to cut back on buying crap to get a decent enclosure, I would be happy with one half as good as yours!

Be sure to take photos of "Chompy" in his new enclosure.

If moneys tight, Just pick things up slowly one at a time or when you can afford em when you break it down its not too much. I think the ivy cost 98p from B+Q, the Tree was £9 from B+Q... the log was £4.99 and the plastic plant was about £5... most expensive thing was the vine clocking in at £8.

Heh ill try and get some photos of him when hes out and about... hes quite shy though so its hard to catch him crawling around. Going to leave him alone for a few weeks now though, just handle him for feedings etc and let him have some proper time to settle in and get used to all his new goodies.

Thats very nice looking vivarium, lots for the eye to wonder through, plus I'm sure all the variation is much appreciated by chompy.

I have bonsai myself and was toying with the idea of using them in the vivarium I am working on for Fionuir. To my thinking the humidity and temps is a perfect range and they are very sturdy if in good health.

Looks great! I like what you did with the bare vine. I only have one in one viv so far, to see how I liked it.
