Pieces of Shed Stuck to Skin

Vector is around 36" long and about 2 years old. He has never had a bad shed until last night. There are small pieces of shed stuck to his body along the whole length. These are just small pieces in various places. Otherwise his shed looks normal. I gave a slight tug on 1 piece that was stuck and he flinched so I didnt do anymore.

Is this a serious problem? Should I worry about getting the small pieces off?
How can I get these pieces off?
 
you could try a bath. let him swim around..not too deep though. I use my bathroom sink for my small ones. Once he's had a good soak, let him slither through a towel, keep a gentle but firm grip on him with the towel as he slides through.

The temp of the water shouldn't be too warm. Snakes are very cold to the touch so what is luke warm to you, could be quite hot for the snake. I usually use my wrist to test the running water. If I don't feel any temperature, then in my opinion, if's a good temp for the snake.

I'm a newbie though, but that's what I would do. I think if the skin is stuck, it would be like pulling peeling skin that isn't quite ready to be peeled off a sunburn. Boy, have I been there before!!

When my snakes have a bad shed I give them a luke warm bath and have them run thier bodies through a warm wash cloth. Works for me. but deffinatly follow what these two said. mine is just 2 cents.
 
I will try the bath and towell procedure. How long do I have to let him swim?

I would still like to know how common this is? Also if this could be a serious problem or no big deal.
 
It usually means the humidity was just a bit low that time. You could create a moist hide (use search if you decide to for some tips) or 'mist' inside the viv right before shed time, but usually there's no need. My 6 year old has only had two bad sheds; I never need to mist, sometimes it just goes wrong.

I also never used a towel when I bathed him; I let him run through my hands. Do whatever works best for you though.

Leave him to soak for a good few minutes, it won't harm him and you do want to make sure you aren't pulling skin off the 'sunburn' way as Kathy said (ouch).

Good luck, I'm sure you will do fine. Remember to check the eye caps and tip of the tail have come off along with the rest of the shed.
 
Id let him swim around for about a minet. Well my corns first shed was a bad one, so i dont think its that uncommon.
 
We put him in the water. He kept trying to climb out but we kept him in for a few minutes and then let him crawl through a washcloth. It worked pretty well. There are only a few specks of shed left on him.

How important is it to get the little that is left on him off?

I am going to buy the meter that measures humidity to see if its to dry for him.
 
I know is theres any on his eyes for tail its very important to get that of no sure about the rest. That what i did (get a humidity gaudge). and i raise humidity to about %50 and havent had a abd shed since.
