Ok so the lamp vs UTH is not a battle for me at this young stage on these forums!!!
I think I might go to UTH have to drive to another City for fair price but going anyways to buy girlfriend a Sunglow (and so it spreads...lol) and another for me if a cute one grabs my fancy!
I guess these rheostats as they show how to build on here are the best choice for heat control???
I have a few questions sorry!!!!!!!!
I see these pre-made plastic vivs about 18"x10" (guess)? How do you heat these?
Are these just a waste or would a few 5.5 gallons to start be a bigger waste???
Thanks

SUSANG........Not sure how much she(Fang) weighs, must be at least 3-4 lbs???
Why would a longer feed interval be better? She's not fat, bulky and I think at least six feet now that I see her stretched out in her 3' long viv!
I really am thankful for all help!

6' is a very large corn snake not the average and if she weighs 3-4 pounds that would be overweight. My big guy is on 10-14 days because he is almost a kilo (just under 3 pounds), and he is considered big, once your snake gets fat it is really hard to thin them down.

3-4lbs was a guess, I suppose a weighing would be a good thing! Yeah a kilo might be closer (thats what we work here with "metric system), kilo=2.2lbs.
I would say she is about half the size of a Pepsi can around her widest spot?
So know she eats like really big mice or small rats, what would I feed on 10-14 days?
She was slow on her bowl movement this time I think but could have been due to her move in this very very cold weather we have been having?
Hey Susang,
Thanks a lot for all help!!!!
I hope I could ask more in the future as you have bigger snakes too, maybe I would haven been better to start off small but couldn't let her go to strangers!!!!!

Hey Bill, You would feed the same thing small rat and two feeder mice. I was hard for me to put my guy on a diet but he was gaining, no matter what and still is. It takes him a long time to go through shed pahse about 2.5 to 3 weeks and he refuses food, and he still managed to gain a couple grams. ere is a pick of him, you can compare yours
