what does snake poop look like. I thought Baxter had pooped a few days after I fed him the first time, but now it doesn't look like he has, however I have found dry stuff like chalk in there. The first one looked like a little white slimy oval. So what should it look like, was the first one a regurge? what does that look like?

A regurge will often resemble the prey item that you fed your snake; depends on how far into digestion it was. It will also smell horrific!! Way worst than the feces. Snake poop should be black in color with a little bit of white chalky stuff mixed in.

the poop will look like bird poop...if you see skin remains or something you can identify as the meal you fed the snake (pinky, fuzzy etc) then its most likely a regurge. But from your description it sounds like normal poop. Like blueapplepaste said, it will smell REALLY bad...normal snake poop doesn't really smell. I'm still a n00b so yeah :crazy02:

Thanks for the help, no bad smell, sounds like normal poops so far. Thanks again, I just wasn't sure being a newbie and all.

Ellie, you didn't mention how old or how large Baxter is... You may have in a different post and I just haven't seen it. A tiny chalky oval sounds about right for a baby snake. It gets bigger as they eat more at a "sitting."

Baxter is a baby corn, I have had him 2 weeks now, he is about 12 inches long. I think the first one was a regurge. It must have been partially digested, though. Since then I have fed him twice more and he has been pooping little white chalky poops. Thanks for all the help. I think we are pretty on schedule with feeding and poops now.
