Hello everyone, Is it possible to 'pop' adults to confirm sex? i've heard its not a good idea but then i see videos of people doing it to other types of adult snakes.. what's the general feeling on this?

I've also heard the same...it's only "safe" to pop hatchlings. If you have an adult, it's far safer to have them probed.

No offense, but I just don't see having to go through all that to confirm gender, there are other ways. With many you can just look and tell what they are, sometimes you can feel the hemipenes inside if you palpate and of course there is probing. And no, I would not pop an adult, they have mature muscles in that area and it can hurt them.
