Popping questions...

I've been learning how to pop hatchlings and I'm curious as to the best time after hatching to do so. I've tried a few already and come up with 9 females and 1 male... and i'm thinking "this can't be right"... but since its my first popping experience I'm having a hard time identifying what the hemipenes of a newly hatched corn look like. The one male i popped had two little white things that popped out and it seemed obvious that those were hemipenes. I've watched Kathy Love's video but I'm not sure how old the snakes she used were as compared to my fresh out of the egg snakes. Anyone have opinions on this? Or even point me in the right direction?

I'm not sure whether this is correct and i have no experience with popping at all but i read on this form the other day that you can get a more obvious sign's of the hemipenes after the first shed.

hope this helps.

Not sure as the best age but I do know that any females I don't label as a true female until I've popped them female three times in a row. For the most part if it's obviously male I keep it as a male and quit popping it.

I wait until after they've had their first shed. Any "females" I wait a couple of days and try again as sometimes they can be reluctant to pop. I then do that after 3 days again. If after three trys they haven't popped, I label them female.
