Possibly underfed snake on craigslist?

Let me know what your think, i've already emailed this girl about the snake and wanted some pictures of it and told her i wanted to check it out some day. And i said if he looks healthy besides him being skinny i might take him home anyways heres the ad http://portland.craigslist.org/wsc/fod/3627009308.html i will post the pictures she sends me and from the ad i think all she used was a heat lamp to heat and it had broken. Keep in mind where i live it gets very cold and i thought it might be cool to nurse a snake back to health anyways let me know what you think.

I don't see the pics when I follow the link. If she is feeding a nearly ten year old snake pinkies every other week, then I can promise that she is very underweight.
I really am enjoying seeing Shivers bounce back to become a normal sized corn snake.

she mentions she is almost 10, 4 feet long and about the width of a thumb?? Yea, im going with underfed.

Once i get the pictures she sends me i will post them then check her out in person, if she has an RI or anything i don't think i'll take her but i will educate her on getting it back to size.

Well she's trying to sell it, so I don't think she has any plans to nurse it back to health. Best she sells it on - at least it'll stand a chance of going to a better owner.

I FINALLY got the picture from her and it's beautiful and i'm going try and head down tomorrow and pick her up. Anyways heres the picture, I think she looks pretty healthy

That is a great and healthy looking snake.

Just make sure to practice good quarantine procedures and you should be all set.

I quarantine no matter what for 90 days since illness can lay dormant for quite some time. Aside from washing your hands also don't use the same stuff to clean their bowls and cages like sponges, washcloths, or whatever material you clean with.

Clean and work with the snake in quarantine after you work with your other animals. That will cut down on the cross contamination.

I agree - definitely not underfed but just about the right proportions. Nice find.

Looks ultramel to me. Certainly amel. If you get a belly shot, that might help.
