Post-shed BP clutch

Lolo

Surrounded by snakes
My ball python clutch (normal x mojave) has all shed now, and 4 out of 6 have eaten at least one meal... so it was time for a quick photo shoot! Obviously my odds weren't great with only one mojo, but I'm still in love with each and every baby. :)

Can you tell who's the outgoing baby?

Awesome!! I really need to think about adding a couple of BP's to my collection. I think the only thing slowing me down is room.

Nice pics and thanks for sharing!

Thanks! They don't take up much room, at least not for the first year... c'mon, you know you want one. :D;)

Real nice clutch. :D

MY bps are in the same size tubs as my corns, so it's no more room, they fit right on the same rack... I just have to give them more heat.

What size tubs are you using? And how do you add extra heat for the BP's?

I know you were asking wax, but I'll answer anyway... my babies are kept in 6qt tubs, juvies in 15qt, and adults in either 28-30 or 41qt tubs. As for the heat, there are a few options - you can either have separately controlled flexwatt on their shelves (in a rack), a whole separate rack, or added heat sources on/around the tubs.

I actually do the opposite with a few of mine, where corns are on the same heat source as my BPs, but not all the way on - I pull the (lidded) corn tubs slightly out, so they're just barely touching the flexwatt. This isn't the most scientific method, but it's worked for a while now... planning to rearrange everyone soon, though, since I finally got another rack. Now the corns can have one all to themselves! :)

Thanks, BAH! They're so precious, I just can't stop looking at them... good thing the rack is right next to my bed, LOL. ;)

I keep all my adult corns and balls in these:

I heat my room to 80 degrees in general for the corns and I use heat tape set to 98 degrees under the bps.

The big rack holds the 40qt tubs, and other stuff... the configuration has changed a little but basically... the bps can go on the shelf with heat-tape under them, the corns can stack on top of those tubs. :D

Thanks! Here's some more of "baby 1," who's definitely staying here with me... she is such a little sweetheart, and I'm really digging the pattern. I'm thinking of calling her Ophelia (to go along with my Shakespeare theme), unless it turns out she's really a he. ;)
