Logic: "I don't understand what these people are saying, therefore I should stay out of this thread."
Not necessarily the case! Try my logic: This thread and/or debate doesn't really add any value to anything; after glancing through it, it's time to move on to something else.
I want to say that Blutengel has a very valid and (most of the time) ignored point here (which is an extremely important philosophical concept):
I must say that I can only agree with someones logic if they can back it up with facts. Of course logic leans on reasoning and correct deduction and such, but to go along with someones logic, you need to agree on the precise rules of logic you are using. If your logic tells you a certain candidate is going to make the world a lot scarier, I have to agree on what is scary before I can agree with you. If I don't, I still might agree that you apply your logic correctly. For example; the candidate is going to make the world scarier, I don't want that so I won't vote for him. Pure logic, but if I don't agree with your opinion that he wil make the world scarier, I won't agree with you that one should not vote for him if you don't want the world to get scarier.
Is this a real time picture of an actual 'homeless' guy? Who knows? Probably not.
Is this a parody depicting how some people take advantage of a system gone awry (and have the means and availability to do so)? Yes
Do most of us understand this 'concept' and (possibly) get a chuckle out of it? Yes
From my perspective, it seems that people are merely over analyzing something that was intended to be humorous (for a specific political crowd) and have decided, in one way or another, to take offense to it.
[RANT] In my humble opinion, there seems to be way too much of -->taking offense to things going on these days. It drives me nuts. It seems to over power reasoning and logic along with the "I'm not responsible for my own actions" concept (which is becoming more popular). [/RANT]
Sorry for that.
Oh, I just wanted to note too that I didn't even realize the guy in the picture was black until someone pointed that out. I guess it was such a trivial feature that I didn't even notice it.
