Problems with my heat. HELP

I am pickin up baby corn up in 2 days. And the heat in the tank is getting me frustrated. I have the exo terra <not digital> thermometer in the tank. now i placed them in a few diff spots on the hot side of the tank and gets different readings in every spot. directly under the light it read 110 f (WAY TO HOT) off to one side its saying 88 f and on the ohter side <still hot side> its saying 83 f and under the substarte <i buried the thermoneter> its saying 84 f. HELP. i am worried that its goin to be to hot or to cold for the snake. the cold side of the tank is perfect. just the right temp day and nite. ANY SUGESSTIONS WOULD HELP/

For starters i would suggest getting an UTH (Under Tank Heat) Mat. They are far better for corns as corns and probs safer too.

Also the analogue thermometer you hav eis very inaacurate. I would suggest getting a digital thermometer with 2 probes so you can measure the floor temp directly above the UTH and one the other end of the viv to measure the cool end. The temps of 83 and 84 you are getting are fine for the warm end but 110 is far too hot.

Thermostat. Doesn't have to be expensive. Decent thermometer. Big Apple Herp is one place to try.

wal~mart has $8 (Canadian $) digital indoor outdoor thermometers. you just place it on the cool side and stick the probe in the substrate on the warm side.

Cool tks for the tip antsterr. i have to go to wal-mart before i gets my snake. will have to pick one up.
 
Reptilesupply.com is another place to try...they are great and have great prices for UTH and thermostats....just a suggestion...also has some other cool things.. :grin01:
