Progression for Spectra! 2014 Ghost.

Spec Shed!

I'm going to turn this into my progression thread for Spectra. I came home from my little brother's wedding tonight and went and checked on her and she had shed!! I took a look though and it wasn't a clean shed. It came off in pieces. I did take her out and inspect her. I think I found most of them and the eye caps were in her shed and there wasn't anything left on her tail but she does have some pieces on her side still.

Should I put her in some water to get these pieces off and make sure I'm not missing any pieces??

I did take a few photos and she is so SO pretty!! I can't believe how shiny she is and I just absolutely love the pink in her cheeks and on her head.

Now when should I feed? Do I wait a day or two or should I feed tomorrow? Last feeding was on the 2nd and she arrived here with me on the 9th.

1st Feeding

I fed Spec for the first time tonight! It was so exciting! She didn't even hesitate and didn't mind me watching or taking a few photos. It was a pretty cool experience and really awesome to watch!

There is definitely something deeply engrossing in watching a snake eat, for the first couple dozen times but especially that first time!

It happened SO fast!! I want to watch it all over again just because it happened so fast lol. Before I knew it the pinkie was gone and she was looking for a way out of the cup. I should have recorded it instead of just doing photos, but it's awesome that she let me watch :)

Thank you! I love her! I'm really glad and thankful to have her. I'm excited to see what a gorgeous snake she'll become.

Handled Spec for the first time tonight. She's amazing and I love her. She's just awesome.

Thanks! It's so exciting! I wish I had the chance to be part of the snake world much sooner. So happy to be now!

And Thanks! :)

She is a pretty one for sure! Her markings are so crisp. Beautiful!

Thank you! I totally agree lol, but I'm pretty partial now. :) I am thinking her sides will get yellow like her dam's, can see some yellow in them now.

Went in to see is Spec was out and about (love watching her explore her viv) and this is how I found her. I have checked and double checked to see if there was the tiniest crack she could possibly get out of and found nothing but man they do do everything to try and be an escape artist.

Thank you! I really love that too and hope she keeps it! She does seem to have quite a bit of pink tones but her sides are faint yellow. I'm excited to see how she grows.

Interestingly enough, my own ghost corn snake had barely any yellow when I first got her, now with each shed the yellow is beginning to spread! It's gorgeous. I'm sure with those parents you'll find that yellow coming out more soon enough ;) good luck with that cutie.

Here are a few photos that you can see more of her yellow in. She's such a pretty girl. My husband was even holding her a little tonight!! I love that I've shown him how awesome herps can be!
