Quarantine for new reptiles

I wasn't sure where to put this because it is also about something besides corns... We are getting some new corns to add for breeding this year and I wanted to know how long you all would recommend quarantine for them. We keep all of our reptiles in the same room (unless they are new and in quarantine), so they are relatively close once we bring them in there. I have done a lot of research and it varies, so I wanted the "experts" opinions. :)

Also, we just rescued a savannah monitor who is severely malnourished, and I was wondering how long you all think we should quarantine him as well. He has been to the vet, and has no visible signs of parasites, has FINALLY pooped and been adjusting well, but we would like to move him into our reptile room as soon as safely possible. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

I quarantined a snake for 6 months, and 3 months later he broke out with clinical crypto.

I think six months is usually the recommended time. I usually do three complete sheds. If anything seems off, they go to the vet for a fecal. With the lizard, I'd make sure you get several fecals done. Sometimes parasites that are dangerous don't show up immediately.

Megan, that really stinks... Did you have to euthanize him? Thanks guys, we will just keep him where he is for a while!

Yup. Euthanised him and 13 of my babies/juveniles to see if the parasite had spread. All 13 came back negative.
