Hello everyone, just a question for you all. what do you do if your snake doesnt eat the mouse and just shows no interest at all? can you refreeze it at all or is it just a loss and you toss it in the trash? i havent had that happen yet but im sure one day it will happen that one of my snakes wont eat and i just wonder what you all do with the mouse?

Thanks !

I would toss it if that happened... Reason being that there will be bacterial growth in the mouse and I wouldn't take the chance with the snakes sensitive digestive system but I may be wrong.

toss it. it's a small loss but a better one that dealing with regurges. would you refreeze leftover meat?

During the spring, when some of my males get picky, I'll heat up their mice first and if they don't eat, then I feed the mouse to the next snake. But if you only have one snake or don't want to risk cross contamination between multiple snakes, then just throw the mouse away if the snake doesn't eat.

I agree, if one doesn't eat I will feed it to another in the same room, but never cross contaminate with one in quarantine. I hate tossing them out too, but better safe than sorry.
